Charcoal grills for the most part are pretty inexpensive and have been around for a very long time, so people consider them reliable and hasslefree for the most part.
I love charcoal grills myself and wanted to put together a list of the best charcoal grills under $100 available to the public in order to get a good overview of what’s available and how to get the best thing for your buck, even if it’s only $100. The Best Portable Charcoal Grill:
The first BBQ I wanted to talk about is the Lodge L410 Pre-Seasoned Sportsman’s Charcoal Grill, which happen to make Amazon’s bestseller list in 2014 and in 2015.
This hibachi-style charcoal grill is perfect if you are making a meal for a picnic style lunch or dinner. It is the an ideal grill for camping and tailgating because it is compact in size, but still convenient enough to get the grilling and frying you need done.
This Mini Lodge Grill measures roughly (19″ x 10.25″ x 8.25″) and features two differnt heights that you can set the grate at for more or less heat according to what food you have on the grill. The actual grate itself measures 17″ x 9″ and comes pre-seasoned so you don’t have to deal with the hassle of seasoning the cast-iron yourself.
Lodge make some of the best cast iron equipment out there, not just barbecues but pots and pans and has maintained a reputation over many decades, so it’s no surprise this grill is at the top of my list.
The Best American Made Charcoal Grill:
The next grill I wanted to talk about is a classic, the Weber 741001 Silver One-Touch 22-Inch Kettle Grill which has the classic Weber features and is really the barbecue that made the company famous in the first place.
This charcoal kettle grill features a stylish black glossy finish and is roughly 22 inches in size (diameter).
This Weber BBQ also features a heavy-duty steel cooking grate which makes cooking convenient and allows for quick cleaning due to the fact that it can be removed as well.
It has an ash catcher that is made out of aluminum to prevent rust from forming and spreading and comes with crack-proof weather resistant wheels.
Another great Bbq Grill That Is Affordable:
This Texas style smoker doubles as a charcoal grill which makes it a convenient choice for someone who enjoys cooking outside and wants the option of smoking foods as well.
It comes equipped with a sliding drawer which makes it easy to get to the coals as well as the ashes when you are cleaning up and is a cool little feature you don’t see on grills in this particular price range.
There is a total of 250 in.² of primary cooking area in this char griller barbecue and it’s constructed of durable cast-iron for longevity.
Best Charcoal Grill For Under $100
The next contender to make a list is the Char-Broil Santa Fe Charcoal Grill, which has some unique features that are not found in the other models listed and why it is number four on the list of the best charcoal grills under 100 dollars.
With this Char-Broil charcoal model, you essentially have a full range BBQ, meaning: a cart, two side trays and a wire storage rack underneath which is quite uncommon for grills around the $100 range, usually all you get is the grill and really no storage space.
It comes equipped with a cast iron grilling surface that gives you 435 in.² of primary cooking space and 175 inches of chrome plated secondary space. You have more than enough room to grill for many guests without making them wait for the second round of food to cook.
You have the ability to adjust one of the three adjustable dampeners to allow for maximum airflow and heat control throughout the cooking process. One of the dampeners is located on the smokestack and the other two are mounted on the side of the unit, allowing a decent amount of air into the grill to have a much better hold on the overall temperature inside.
Best Affordable Charcoal Grill:
The next model (Weber 441001 Silver One-Touch 18-Inch Kettle Grill) is very similar to the other Weber grill that we looked at on the list but is a little bit smaller, coming in at around 18 inches in diameter.
This 18 inch Weber (kettle style) grill features a glossy black finish that is well known and common for these types of barbecues. This grill is a little bit cheaper than the other Weber model and happens to be the most cost-effective grill in the entire list, costing around $80.
The 18 inch diameter of this barbecue allows for 240 in.² of total grilling space and measures roughly 18 1/2 inches long by 23 inches wide and 35 inches in height. Another nice little feature about this grill is the fact that it comes with a 10 year limited warranty offered by Weber.
